We just received notice that Bentsen-RGV State Park will be closed Monday, January 17, due to the installation of the flood gates.  On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week there may be some delays due to work being done on the levee.  Might be best to postpone your visit until later in the week.

Now that the Bentsen-RGV State Park is open (almost all sections are accessible now), we have requested passes for all Bentsen Palm residents and as soon we have them in hand, we will send out an e-blast to all Bentsen Palm residents to come pick up their new passes from Lupita at Rhodes Enterprises’ headquarters [...]

Good news from Bentsen-RGV State Park!  We can now return, by bike or by foot, to enjoy our favorite birding destination in South Texas–for now–up to Ebony Grove, only.  Tram service is still not available and the park staff requests that we “honor the barricades” and go no further than Ebony Grove.  So, put on [...]

The Bentsen-RGV State Park’s Store, Cafe, Exhibit Room (Visitors’ Center) and Meeting Room are open and available for rental.  The Park, itself, and remaining facilities will not open until further notice.
