Learn About the Three School District Options Del Oro Students Can Attend

Selecting a neighborhood with great schools is an important factor for families looking for Mission, TX homes for sale. Based on its great location, the Del Oro at Bentsen Palm community offers residents with children a number of options to choose from when deciding on the best place for their students to enroll. The schools districts surrounding the community include, La Joya ISD, Mission Consolidated ISD and IDEA Public Schools.

The Bentsen Palm community is located within the La Joya ISD.  The vision of this district is providing education excellence as the right of every student. La Joya has also been recognized for its excellence in financial practices. The schools located near the Del Oro neighborhood include, Jose de Escandon Elementary School, Irene Garcia Middle School, Memorial Middle School and Palmview High School

Studying

The IDEA Public Schools are a tuition-free open enrollment charter school that has recently been rated as Exemplary. It is a K-12 school that was ranked the 19th most challenging school in Texas and the focus is on college prep, and continuing its 9 consecutive year record of having 100% college acceptance for IDEA high school graduate.   In 2015 six of the IDEA high schools were ranked in the top 500 high schools in America by U.S. News and World Report.  The IDEA Mission Campus is located on-site in the Bentsen Palm community. Families must apply to attend the school, but there are no academic requirements to apply.

College Prep

Families living in the Del Oro community have a third option for schools near this McAllen area real estate.  With school of choice, families may elect to enroll their students into the Mission Consolidated ISD.  The vision of Mission CISD is to prepare and inspire all students to be equipped to excel in the college and career of their choice.  The school district includes a number of elementary schools with Leal Elementary closest to Bentsen Palm, four junior high schools and four high schools.  The high schools include two traditional schools, which offer a STEM Academy and Career Tech Early College Academy programs, a Collegiate High School and a non-traditional high school that gives qualifying students an opportunity to complete their education and obtain a high school diploma.

College Students

Living in Del Oro at Bentsen Palm also affords families great access to higher learning opportunities beyond secondary school.  There are a number of top local colleges and universities in the Mission, TX area, including the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, South Texas College, A&M University, South Texas Community College and more.
